Cathay Pacific extends Dubai flight suspension until April
Passengers can rebook, reroute or claim refunds without fees
DUBAI – Cathay Pacific Airways has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh until April 30, citing ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The Hong Kong flag carrier emphasised that the safety of its passengers and staff remains its top priority. This latest announcement follows an earlier halt in February, when escalating regional unrest led to widespread travel disruption across international airspace.
All Cathay Pacific services between Hong Kong and the two cities will remain cancelled through the end of April. Passengers who have not received direct communication from the airline are urged to check their booking status via the “Manage Booking” portal. The airline is closely monitoring developments and may make further adjustments to its schedule if conditions change.
Flexible options
To assist affected travellers, Cathay Pacific has introduced flexible ticket arrangements. Passengers booked to travel to or from Dubai or Riyadh up to May 31, 2026 can rebook, reroute, or request refunds without the usual fees. Any fare differences will still apply, and revised travel must be completed by July 31, subject to availability. Customers who booked via travel agents or third-party websites should contact their provider, while direct bookings can be managed through the airline’s website, app, or Customer Care.

The suspension comes as airlines worldwide contend with rising fuel costs linked to the Middle East conflict. Cathay Pacific has increased fuel surcharges on some long-haul routes, with fees roughly doubling since mid-March. Other carriers across Hong Kong and Asia have adopted similar measures, while many are reallocating capacity to Europe and alternative destinations.
